Exploring typography and branding for semi-fictional exhibition "Studies" by Shijeki Fujishiro. “studies” was an exhibition of the artist’s process work from his product design practice - consisting of paper models, to gain a third person perspective on his work. What was intriguing about “studies” was material and texture - paper and the geometric yet rounded forms of his models. LASALLE College of the Arts, 2023
This project explores GT Cinetype by Grillitype and its weights to communicate the artist cutting and folding paper with the sharp mechanical cuts of the letterform. The reducing type weight mimics the non-linear design process of cutting and refinement till the finished product.
Collateral System
This idea is further translated into the collaterals too, with the posters being manually cut at the corners - as though it is made of the leftover paper from the exhibition work.
