"Everyday India in Snapshots" explores narratives, identities and conventions in snapshots of India by everyday Indians, through a process of collection, making, arranging and re-arranging of a visual material largely understudied.

This visual compendium collates and maps snapshots from everyday Indians’ photo galleries in a large-scale photographic map, exploring how in today’s image-rich economy the latter looks at India through their lens.

An explorative take on overlooked snapshot photography by everyday Indians, playing with the multivalency of photographs and the conventions of looking — allowing the viewer to see beyond what was captured within the frame of the camera.

This series of explorations propose different mediums and methods that can be further developed to explore colours captured in snapshot photography in a non-photographic way.
